Where the people are

  • PistonHeads: the UK owners’ thread is long and active. Delivery, charging, tyres, software and modifications.
  • r/AlpineA290: international Reddit community. More photos and quick questions; less technical depth.
  • A290 Wiki: an independent owner-maintained knowledge base with links to forums and guides.
  • r5-etech-forum.de: German forum with boards for the R5 E-Tech, the 5 Turbo 3E and the A290. Very active on lowering springs, wheels and accessories.
  • Facebook groups: UK and international owner groups exist. Some are private; respect the rules.
  • Local Alpine clubs: the best route to meets and to seeing colours and finishes in person.

What you learn

Forums are good at spotting patterns: charging that stops, high delivery tyre pressures, an app that lags, suspension noises. They are not good for an official answer. If a problem repeats across countries and versions, it deserves a dealer visit.

How to ask

  1. State the country, version and year.
  2. Describe the fault with dates and conditions.
  3. Add a photo or a short video.
  4. Say what you have already tried.
  5. Close the thread when it is solved.

Etiquette

Do not post personal data, registration plates or full VINs. Do not present one experience as a universal defect. And do not use the forum to sell without saying so.

This site

There is no forum or comment section. The knowledge base is corrected with sources and the contact page collects contributions. If you find a better thread than ours, send it: the bibliography is part of the project too.
