An independent site about the Renault 5 and the Alpine A290: history, technical file and a knowledge base for anyone who wants to understand the car, not just look at it.

[ 01 ]

What this site is

Alpine A290 began as a horizontal Renault 5 timeline and grew into an editorial A290 file and a knowledge base for owners and curious readers. The idea is simple: tell the story properly and explain the car with figures that can be checked.

There is no advertising, no sponsored content and no brand behind it. It is a personal project in three languages, built to last and to be corrected when needed.

What it is not

The story covers eight milestones, from the 1967 sketch to the 2024 A290. The file has eleven chapters. The knowledge base gathers fifteen practical articles and grows with corrections.

  • It is not an official Alpine or Renault website.
  • It is not a forum or a technical support service.
  • It is not a neutral buying guide: there is opinion, and it is labelled.
  • It is not a commercial publication and does not accept payment for coverage.

How we work

  1. 01Source before sentence

Every relevant figure rests on official documentation, a database or an identifiable test.

  2. 02Separate data from experience

What an owner says is valuable, but it is not the same as a homologated specification. The interface makes the difference clear.

  3. 03Date and correct

Prices, ranges and software change. Every chapter and article shows its last review date.

  4. 04Write for three languages

ES, EN and FR are not machine translations: each version is edited to read naturally.

[ Independence ]

Independence

The site has no relationship with Alpine or Renault, receives no press cars and no funding from brands. When an opinion is personal, it says so; when a figure comes from a source, it links to it.

[ Technology and privacy ]

Technology and privacy

The site is static and built with Astro. Typefaces are served locally, the portal sound is downloaded from this domain, and there is no analytics or tracking cookies. Videos and press are linked, not embedded.

[ Privacy ]

Privacy

No personal data is collected while browsing. The only local storage is the language preference. If you write by email, the message is handled outside this website.

Credits

Trademarks and emblems belong to their owners. Timeline photographs are used for information; the sources for each milestone are cited on its card. Typefaces are free and the code relies on open-source projects.

Something missing?

The knowledge base improves with well-sourced corrections. If you have a source, a photo or an owner’s data point, there is a place for it.
